Delete your account

How to permanently delete your account and the data associated with it.

Last updated 1 November 2026

This page explains how to permanently delete your Storybook Studio account (package com.storybookstudio.app) and the data associated with it. You need an account only to make share links. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

How to delete your account

In the app, open Account and choose Delete my account. Your account and its share links are deleted at once, and the app signs you out.

If you no longer have the app, email [email protected] from the Google address you sign in to Storybook Studio with, and ask us to delete your account. We reply to confirm, and delete your account within 30 days of your request. If you write from a different address, we will ask you to confirm the request from your sign-in address first, so that nobody else can delete your account.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted we permanently remove:

Your sign-in record with Google Firebase Authentication (your email address and account ID) is not yet removed automatically. To have it deleted, email [email protected] from your sign-in address, and we delete it within 30 days of your request.

What is kept

Reports of inappropriate content about your share links are kept, without the link, so that we can keep shared books safe. They hold the reason given and an internal reference, never your name or email address.

We never hold your books, Characters, Child Profiles, voice recordings or AI provider keys: they are on your phone. Delete them in the app, or uninstall the app to remove them all. A Google Drive backup you made with Pro is in your own Drive; delete it from Google Drive's settings, under Manage apps. Requests the app sent to your AI provider are kept by that provider under your agreement with them.

Retention period

Deleting in the app removes your account and share links from our servers at once. Copies may remain in our database provider’s backups for up to a further 30 days before they are overwritten, after which no copy remains.
